Elenger’s agreement with German energy group EWE AG to acquire the group’s Polish business, signed at the end of last year, was awarded the Baltic Outbound Deal of the Year 2025 award by the Baltic M&A & Private Equity annual deal award jury.
The recognition of the most significant Baltic M&A & Private Equity deals of the year is part of the annual M&A event, the Baltic M&A and Private Equity Forum. The selection is made by a jury of independent experts and the awards are presented in four categories: Baltic M&A, Private Equity, Venture Capital and Outbound deals. When evaluating the deals, their size, complexity and innovativeness, ESG impact and strategic importance in the Baltic market are taken into account.
The volume of the EWE Polska purchase transaction reached 120 million euros, which is known to be the largest Estonian investment in Poland. The acquired company, renamed Elenger Polska, is the second largest privately owned network operator in Poland, operating a 2,316 km long natural gas distribution network and serving more than 25,000 customers. In addition to infrastructure management, the company is engaged in the sale of natural gas and electricity, with energy sales exceeding 1.3 TWh last year.
